Couples Therapy
Move beyond conflict and disconnection into deeper understanding, intimacy, and trust.
Communication issues, unresolved conflict, a sense of disconnection—these challenges are impacting the intimacy you once shared. If you’re here, you’re looking to transform your relationship and journey into deeper connection. In our couples counseling sessions, we go beyond traditional talk therapy. I leverage my expertise in dance/movement and somatic therapy to create a space where the body becomes a valuable instrument for understanding and healing. Drawing on attachment theory and neuroscience, we’ll explore both the verbal and non-verbal aspects of your connection, unlocking patterns that may be influencing your relationship dynamics. Together, we’ll work to rewire neural pathways, build secure bonds, and cultivate new ways of relating that foster trust, empathy, and mutual understanding.
“Transform your realtionahip and journey into deeper connection.”
Common challenges we address…
ADHD in Relationships
When one or both partners have ADHD, it can create unique challenges—missed commitments, misunderstood intentions, emotional reactivity, and feelings of being criticized or neglected. The non-ADHD partner may feel exhausted from managing everything, while the ADHD partner feels misunderstood and blamed. With my personal experience and specialized training in ADHD, we’ll help both of you understand how ADHD affects your relationship dynamics and develop strategies that honor both partners’ needs, strengthen connection, and reduce frustration.
Communication Breakdown
You’re talking, but not really hearing each other. Conversations turn into misunderstandings, and simple discussions escalate into arguments. One or both of you might shut down, avoid difficult topics, or feel like you’re speaking different languages. Through body-centered techniques and attachment-informed strategies, we’ll help you learn to express your needs, listen with empathy, and create new patterns of communication that bring you closer together instead of pushing you apart.
Conflict & Resentment
The same arguments keep cycling back, and unresolved issues are building walls between you. Maybe you’re walking on eggshells, or perhaps the anger and hurt have hardened into resentment. Conflict is inevitable in relationships, but it doesn’t have to be destructive. We’ll work together to develop tools for navigating disagreements constructively, addressing the underlying wounds driving the conflict, and fostering resolution that leads to mutual growth and deeper understanding.
Emotional Disconnection
You’re going through the motions, but the spark is gone. You might feel like roommates rather than partners, or sense that you’re drifting further apart despite living under the same roof. This disconnection didn’t happen overnight, and rebuilding it takes intention and effort. Through attachment-informed therapy and somatic exploration, we’ll help you understand what’s creating the distance, reconnect with the emotional bond you once shared, and cultivate the safety and vulnerability needed for true intimacy.
Intimacy Issues
Whether it’s physical intimacy that’s disappeared, emotional vulnerability that feels too risky, or a general sense that you’re not truly seen and known by your partner—intimacy issues affect every aspect of your relationship. These challenges often stem from deeper wounds, unmet needs, or patterns established long ago. We’ll create a safe space to explore what’s blocking intimacy, address underlying fears or hurts, and help you rediscover ways to connect that feel authentic and fulfilling for both of you.
Life Transitions & Stress
Parenthood, career changes, financial pressures, loss, relocation—major life transitions put enormous strain on even the strongest relationships. When you’re both overwhelmed and stressed, it’s easy to become disconnected, irritable, or to stop prioritizing the relationship altogether. We’ll help you navigate these transitions as a team, develop strategies to manage stress together, and ensure your relationship doesn’t just survive the challenge but emerges stronger and more resilient on the other side.
